My main interests lie in the field of Analytical Chemistry with the main focus in the area of Electrochemistry.  Electrochemistry is the study of chemical processes as they relate to electrical current and potential.  Current research is being done on developing new electrode materials for use in various electrochemical processes.  The new electrode materials have possible applications for use in electrochemical detection (a process in which measured voltage and/or current can be used to identify and quantify various analytes of interest), electrochemical incineration (a process in which organic compounds are electrochemically oxidized to more environmentally friendly forms) and fuel cell technologies.
